Tonight we have a special episode of the Recovery Lab Podcast. Brynn Rogel Knox and Daniel Anderson talk with Laurie MacDougall. Laurie is a former math teacher, resides in Dartmouth, MA, and is extremely active in the recovery community. She currently devotes most of her energy to her psychoeducational support group, which offers online video meetings, access to training in the Allies in Recovery CRAFT Program, and a crisis toolkit to help families create their own individualized crisis plan. Her work is guided by a desire to improve the community's response and end the stigma associated with substance use disorder. Laurie loves skiing and ice hockey and is at her happiest when spending time with her husband and three children. Today, we talk with Ann Rodio Fisher (LMSW, MBA, CPSS), Executive Director of Harbor House Chemical Dependency Services since October 2021.
Ms. Fisher brings a wealth of experience to the table, having served as the Alcohol & Drug Services Director at Region 8 Mental Health Services in Brandon, MS, and as the Director of Suicide Prevention with the Department of Mental Health (DMH) Bureau of Outreach, Planning & Development. Her involvement in various grants awarded to Mississippi demonstrates her dedication to making a positive impact.
Originally from North Carolina, Ms. Fisher earned her B.S. in Business Administration from Wake Forest University and her MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After a successful career in Investment Banking and Financial Analysis, she pursued her passion for social work, earning a Master of Social Work from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2015.
